Legends Sports Bar & Grill

Oh Legends. Since this place opened I've had a love/hate relationship with it. But this isn't that kind of blog, so I am leaving all of those feelings at the door and simply going to share this experience.

My husband and I had a super long, long, long day and were exhausted. The idea of ordering in food was tempting, but didn't sound so appetizing. We opted to go to a place that wouldn't mind us wearing a sweatshirt, jeans and a top bun (me, not him). So Legends happened. We bellied up the end of the bar and I ordered the usual.

I was impressed when the bartender grabbed a glass and added an orange slice, a cherry, a tiny shake of loose sugar and three shakes of bitters. Then he muddled the ingredients--I had no idea that Legends was going to be a muddler! I was impressed. I was even more impressed when he grabbed a bottle of Korbel and added a shot and half to the drink. Then he added ice and topped off the drink with soda.

I noticed right away that 50/50 was used (or equivalent) as the prominent grapefruit flavor stuck out to me. The drink wasn't too sweet, the brandy wasn't too strong and the drink needed a couple of more shakes of bitters--but that is nit-picking. It was a solid brandy old fashioned.

We ended up ordering dinner..then some shenanigans ensued, so I can't note the price of the drink here (plus we never received a receipt). As long as it was $4.50 or under, that is a decent price for what I got. Oh Legends, I still love and hate you for so many reasons, but good job on concocting your old fashioned.
